ABST011 - Falls & Regis - Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever - 30/11/2009

1) Lono
2) Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever
3) Someone Somewhere
4) Change Channel

Biog:

Encouraged by their recent, critically ignored, meisterwerk ‘Done Up Like A Vicar’s refusal to set any pulses racing (except perhaps for renowned hippy and arbiter of taste Rob da Bank) Falls & Regis lurch hopelessly away from the ever incredible Myuzyk label back to the warm surrounds of their first home, Absent Music, brandishing their latest attempt at music, ‘Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever’.

It’s amazing what a new computer can do for a production duo. In the case of Falls & Regis, it was to set their “band” back even further than even their own ineffectiveness warranted, bewildering them with its startlingly cryptic methods and just loads of difficult stuff that’s pretty hard to understand. Having managed to abjure its Daedalian charms by forcing their unalloyed ways upon the sleek white beast, Falls & Regis emerged blinking into the daylight with the four blisteringly singular tracks that make ‘Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever’ another sure-fire leap onto the blackened passel of obscurity.

Kicking off with ‘Lono’s two-chords and the truth, the latest set quickly descends into ‘Never Ever Bloody Anything’s unremitting late night grind before kicking back into ‘Someone Somewhere’s effortless insouciant disposition, concluding with the throbbing lure of ‘Change Channel’.

The aural equivalent of a snuff movie, Falls & Regis are compellingly average. A bit like wanking.
